Sen. Daylin Leach (D-Delaware/Montgomery) will host his first annual Dog Park Day to celebrate “National Pet Adoption Month” on June 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harford Park, 260 Gulph Creek Road, Radnor, PA 19087.

Leach will present Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals with a $10,000 state grant to renovate the shelter. Francisvale is a no-kill shelter based in Radnor aimed at raising public awareness about the plight of homeless animals and to realize the benefits of adopting an animal in need. Volunteers from the shelter are expected to attend with adoptable animals from Francisvale.

The meet and greet will be held at Harford Park in Radnor Township, an area well-known by dog owners as a great space for both humans and dogs alike. Constituents are encouraged to bring their friendly and well-socialized canine companions to the park for a day of fun and interaction.

Information on pet adoption, pet ownership and local animal shelters will be available as well as free treats for all guests. To learn more adopting a pet, please visit the Delaware County SPCA’s Web site or the Montgomery County SPCA’s Web site.
