KING OF PRUSSIA, October 27, 2010 – State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-Delaware/ Montgomery) today announced that his King of Prussia office will collect items for donation to two well-renowned nonprofit organizations.

Leach’s office is accepting new toys that will be donated to Toys for Tots, as well as toiletries and women’s items that will be given to Why Not Prosper, an organization that offers women in the prison system resources to help them successfully transition from prison back to the community.

“I would like to encourage anyone who has the means to contribute anything they can to these worthy causes,” Leach said. “If we could all offer the simple gift of a new toy to a child or an article of clothing to a woman in need, we’d make the holidays brighter for the entire community.”

According to their Web sites, Toys for Tots collects “new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted,” and Why Not Prosper helps female ex-offenders “discover their own strength by providing them with the support and resources that will empower them to become responsible, economically self-sufficient and contributing members of the community.”

Leach noted that donations will be accepted at his district office until December 15. For more information or other ways to contribute, visit http://www.toysfortots.org and http://www.whynotprosper.org.
