NORRISTOWN, September 8, 2009 – State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-Delaware/ Montgomery) will host an Employment Resource Symposium on Thursday, September 10 at 9 a.m. at the George Washington Carver Center in Norristown.
“In this time of economic uncertainty, we want to put Pennsylvanians to work and make sure they are fully prepared before they enter the workforce,” Leach said. “The Employment Resource Symposium will offer advice and assistance to workers so they become more informed, more skilled and more successful.”
The event will feature keynote speakers from Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Delaware Valley and CareerLink.
Attendees will also be able to visit information tables set up by state and local agencies, including the Department of Public Welfare, CADCOM, Montgomery County Community College, DeVry University, the Department of Labor and Industry, CareerLink, Carolyn Cott Resumes, PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, the Pennsylvania Civil Service Commission the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley and the Pennsylvania Housing Authority.
Local business representatives will also be there to speak to visitors about job training, unemployment assistance, college admissions, resume writing, job listings and applications and other employment-related information.
