KING OF PRUSSIA, September 22, 2011 – State Sen. Daylin Leach will host a battlefield tour and luncheon tomorrow for veterans of the 17th Senatorial District. He invited members of the press to ride along during the tour and to hear stories from some of the nation’s bravest men and women.
“It is an honor to spend the day with veterans from our local area and I am eager to connect with them and hear their stories,” Leach said. “It will be an enjoyable afternoon taking in the sights at the battlefield while remembering our past and celebrating the present.”
The trip will commence at 8:15 a.m. and the buses are expected to arrive at Brandywine Battlefield at 9:00 a.m. After a tour of the grounds, the group will then head to Longwood Gardens for a tour, a luncheon and a presentation by Sen. Leach. The buses will arrive at Longwood by 12:00 p.m. The event will conclude at 3:00 p.m.
Sen. Leach urged reporters to convene at Longwood Gardens at noon, but also noted that they may meet the group at any point along the way. They are invited to ride the bus with the tour group but must arrive at one of the designated stops (King of Prussia Mall near the Wells Fargo off of Mall Blvd.; Plymouth Meeting Mall parking lot behind the LukOil Gas Station off of Germantown Pike; and at the Narberth Borough Hall at 100 Conway Avenue in Narberth) by 7:30 a.m.
