HARRISBURG, June 9, 2011 – State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-Delaware/Montgomery) today announced two community events to be held this weekend in the 17th District.
Leach will host a fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Friday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Haverford Township Free Library. He added that Alex’s Lemonade Stand has a special meaning for him, as Alex Scott, as Alex Scott, the founder and inspiration for the organization, lived in the 17th District before her untimely passing in 2004. Leach participates in this fundraising event each year and encouraged members of the community who can’t attend on Friday to visit his online fundraising page for the lemonade stand.

On Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Leach will host his third annual Dog Park Day at Harford Park in Wayne. The event will include treats for both humans and animals. Guests are encouraged to bring along items to donate to Finding Shelter, an animal shelter located in Norristown. Accepted donations will include leashes, collars, blankets, towels, treats and toys.
The Haverford Township Free Library is located at 1601 Darby Road in Havertown and Harford Park is located at 260 Gulph Creek Road in Wayne.
