HARRISBURG, February 9, 2011 – State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-Delaware/Montgomery) today announced plans to hold a press conference on Monday, February 14 at 12:30 p.m. in the Capitol Rotunda to celebrate LGBT Freedom Week and to push for the passage of equality legislation.
At the press conference, Sen. Leach will announce the reintroduction of his Marriage Equality bill and Rep. Mark Cohen (D-Philadelphia) will unveil details of a Civil Union bill he plans to introduce in the House of Representatives.
They will be joined by Sens. Jim Ferlo (D-Allegheny) and Larry Farnese (D-Philadelphia); Rep. Dan Frankel (D-Allegheny); Ted Martin, Executive Director of Equality Pennsylvania; Rev. Pastor Larry Hawkins of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Harrisburg; Marc Stier, Executive Director of Penn Action; Alanna Berger, Executive Director of Silent Witness; and other supporters of the LGBT equality movement.
