Senator Leach stands with Grace and Cecil Bean at St. John's Episcopal Church after serving breakfast to more than 100 people.
Grace and Cecil Bean have managed the soup kitchen at St. John’s Church since its founding in 1982. They are dedicated to helping the homeless and the working poor in our community. Grace Bean is nearly 90 years old and continues on this worthy and honorable endeavor daily. Her mission is clear, help people who need it.
The soup kitchen is located at 23 East Airy Street in Norristown. The staff is 100% volunteer and they serve meals to more than 600 people weekly. The kitchen is open 4 days a week and is maintained by volunteers. If you would like to volunteer your time or a food donation, please consider giving back to your community by working at the soup kitchen.
