Senator Leach’s Event Calendar
April 1, 2014
This event is hosted by the Pennsylvania Anti-Human Trafficking Advocacy Work Group, an initiative organized by anti-trafficking coalitions and task forces throughout Pennsylvania and national partners.
On Tuesday, April 1st, advocates from across Pennsylvania will join together to urge our State Representatives to pass SB 75, a comprehensive bill that will help Pennsylvania better protect victims, prosecute offenders, and prevent human trafficking from happening in the first place. SB 75 was passed without opposition by the Pennsylvania Senate back in December, and now we need to mobilize our communities to get the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on board to support this important bill, too.
Will you join us?

8:15AM – Arrive at the Capitol. Meet in room 14E (located on the ground floor of the East Wing).
8:30AM – Welcome & Meeting Prep
9:30AM – Press Conference in the Rotunda
11:00AM to 4:00PM – Meetings with members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly
Lunch will be on your own; there is a cafeteria in the Capitol with a variety of food options. We will be sure to allow time for all attendees to eat lunch.
Can’t attend in person? You can still be a part of Advocacy Day by pledging to call your State Representative on Tuesday, April 1st. Once you register, we’ll send you information on how to call the office of an elected official, a sample script and talking points, and other helpful information. There’s a way for everyone to participate! All you have to do is register.
If you are attending in person, there are several different transportation options available, including Amtrak (take the train from Philadelphia or a town along Route 30 to Harrisburg), the bus, or even a carpool. Please note that no coalition, task force, or group promoting Advocacy Day endorses or is liable for any transportation related to traveling to and from the event. Transportation, including all carpooling, is at your own risk.
On Monday, March 24th, we hosted a training call to help you prepare for Advocacy Day. We discussed tips and tricks for making a phone call to an elected official’s office or meeting with your Representative or his/her staff. Click here to listen to the recording.
